What is Alcohol Free Coaching

Coaching is a distinct method of producing human transformation and growth, that has similar characteristics with the disciplines of psychology, consulting and training.  It’s a collaboration of process of accelerating and individuals’ capability to self-determine learning and growth, by continuous changes in self-understanding, self-perception and behaviour.

Our coaching blends the science of neuroplasticity and habit formation with the methodology of This Naked Mind, finding new ways of thinking and behaving to help you explore your relationship with alcohol, whether your goal is abstinence, moderation, or simply curiosity. 1:1 confidential coaching creates space, without judgment, for you to create your best life.

 

I’m not an alcoholic, is coaching right for me?

This is not about labels. Alcohol-free coaching is for anyone who wants to explore living a healthier lifestyle and finds that alcohol might be getting in the way. Together, we can create a plan that is custom-made for you.

 

I don’t want to give up alcohol. Can I still be coached?

Of course. There is no expectation that you need to stop drinking. Every program is tailored to suit each client and their specific intentions. Some clients want to take a break from drinking, others want to moderate and cut back on their bingeing and of course there are those who want to completely stop. You are in control of your program and what you want to achieve. 

 

Is Alcohol really that unhealthy? I’ve read articles on the benefits of drinking.

The actual chemical makeup of alcohol is ethanol, which is petrol you put in your car.  It is addictive and over time, will change your neural pathways to form addiction and craving.  There is an exceptional amount of scientific evidence stating the health issues and disease caused by regular drinking, including depression, cancer, liver disease and brain damage.  But there are more subtle impacts such as lack of sleep, anxiety, mood swings, memory loss and much more.  Many of the articles that advise health benefits are not scientifically tested and in some cases are sponsored by major alcohol companies.  

 

Do I have to stop drinking forever?

There is no 'one-size fits all' when it comes to defining your new relationship with alcohol. Only you can decide the role alcohol will play in your life. We specialize in helping people take a break from alcohol, showing the science of the mind, examining self-beliefs and thoughts that lead to drinking, getting to the route cause of drinking (often other life issues perpetuating emotions) to move toward a different view of alcohol whether that is moderation or zero alcohol, that decision is yours.

 

What happens if start a coaching program and but don’t want to continue?

We want our clients to see value in coaching, however if you are not happy with our services, a pro rata refund is available upon request.
